Vincent DU is a filmmaker and photographer. He used to be a photojournalist working for several newspapers and Reuters in China from 2004 to 2010. Hundreds of his pictures have been published by several renowned news organisations around the world, including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and magazines, including Time and Fortune, and shortlisted to some photography prizes, e.g. Google Photography Prize 2012.

His documentary, China’s Little Rock Star, won British One World Media Award 2013. As director and/or cinematographer, Vincent has made four documentaries for Al Jazeera English.  His fiction film project, Five to Nine, co-produced with three other Asian directors, has been screened at the Golden Horse Film Festival in Taipei, the Singapore International Film Festival, the Osaka Asian Film Festival, and Hong Kong Independent Film Festival. Vincent was also selected to the Berlinale Talents at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival 2014.

From 2010 to 2012, after receiving two scholarships including distinguished British Government Chevening Scholarship, Vincent completed two Master degrees in Journalism and Screen Documentary at the University of Hong Kong and Goldsmiths, University of London respectively. Vincent now teaches documentary and fiction film production at Journalism School of Tianjin Normal University.
